Object storage firm Cloudian Inc. said it wants to turn Big Data into “smart data” with its new HyperStore 5.1 hybrid cloud software, supporting the Amazon S3 cloud and integrating with Apache Hadoop. The solution turns Big Data into smart data by letting users run in-place Hadoop analytics jobs on the HyperStore software and appliances without having to offload data elsewhere. This lets companies derive business intelligence (BI) insights quickly, efficiently and economically, the company said.
