Hybrid devices will account for more than one in 10 mobile PCs sold this year and more than one in four by 2019, Gartner has predicted.
The research house is forecasting that global shipments of hybrid laptop-cum-tablet models will swell 70 per cent this year to a total of 21.5 million. This will represent 12 per cent of the total mobile PC market, Gartner predicts. The analyst expects the number of units shipped to grow to an annual total of 58 million in 2019, accounting for 26 per cent of the overall mobile PC space.
