Not everything in the ITC garden was rosy in Q2 according to our on-going research. Storage system revenues declined by 2.3% to $6.6b, while storage drive (disk, NAND and optical) revenues declined by 0.7% to $15.2B. Within the drive market NAND devices were the only thing to grow in the quarter – up 16.2% to $1.3B, which was 8% of the storage drive market. Disks were down 1.2% to $12.1B and optical drives down 6.9%.
